THE LION OF ENGLAND

Why a lion ? Because in the year 1066, Guillaume the conqueror, Duke of Normandy, won the battle of Hastings and he became the new King of England. His coat of arms represented two gold lions under red backround. Since Guillaume the conqueror including Richard Lion Heart and until nowadays, the English used the lion as a symbol of their domination.
