Comparison between french and english coins under Napoleon III and Victoria

 

Here are below the coins of the second french empire and the victorian empire, which coexist by the 1860's to the 1870's. the metals used in that time for the french and english coins' striking are still traditional : gold, silver and bronze. the size of the coins is more or less the same.

here are below france's coat of arms of the second empire, the imperial eagle, which appears on the reverse of the coins from Napoleon III time, and great britain's coat of arms, which can be seen in other pages on this website :
