The Canadian coinage, victim of what I may call the complex of small America*, is copied on the monetary system of the USA. The current small change (see below) is composed of coins of one cent, five cents, twenty five cents, one dollar and two dollars. In the time of George V and George VI, of which I collect the coins, there were also coins of fifty cents. Except the one cent, out of bronze, all these coins were out of silver. One can see above a very beautiful specimen of a Canadian dollar of George V from 1935.
